Some glowing industry and press quotes have stuck with this four piece combo as words of encouragement and some personal vindication in their pursuit of trying to create an element of melodrama and romanticism in their songs. That may well be at odds with the climate of knowing cynicism that seems to pervade much of today's music. However, the old fashioned idea that pop music can perhaps naively aim for the stars, is one the Reflections have been drawn to. This may go some way to make sense of their influences. With vocals inspired by a decidedly pre-modern and eclectic array of singers such as Gene Pitney, Dion and Scott Walker to name but a few and the song writing and arrangements similarly leaning towards an eclectic bunch of influences from that era and others, from Spector to The Smiths, its easy to see how The Reflections have arrived at their sound. Retro isn't the word for them - it would be nothing more than a by-product of what they do. The Reflections were originally a singer and guitarist song writing partnership that wrote a load of songs and wanted to get out and play them to people. They formed a band together and are doing just that. They were also picked to play at 'In The City' in Manchester and have been developing their sound further since then. With their 1st single and album released early 2010 it's exciting times for this London based four piece....
